Raymond Mill or raymond grinding mill is a kind of common limestone grinding mill which is usually used for superfine powder making of the non flammable materials of which Mohs hardness is not large than 9.3 and water content is below 6% like calcite, potassium feldspar, talc, barite, marble, limestone, dolomite, fluorite, lime, activated clay, activated carbon, bentonite, kaolin, cement, phosphate rock, gypsum, glass, thermal insulation material in mineral, chemical, building and other industries.
Raymond Mill is an important auxiliary equipment for coal-powder furnace by impacting and grinding coal with different hardness into powders. It also can be used to grind coal and raw ore in cement, metallurgy and chemical industry. The grinding process is a process of coal crushing and surface area growing. There is a blinding force must be overcome for the surface area growing, so a large energy consumption is necessary. It has three forces to crush the coal lump and grind them into powder-- crushing, impacting and grinding, in which crushing is the lowest energy consumption process while grinding is the highest one. Every kind of Raymond mill has two or three forces as mentioned. According to the rotary speed of its work part, Raymond mill can be broken into three types: low speed Raymond mill, medium speed Raymond mill and high speed Raymond mill.

The Working Principle of Raymond Mill
When Raymond mill works, the materials that need to be crushed are fed into the machine through the feeding hopper. The grinding roll that hangs on the main engine will rotate around the vertical axis and rotates around itself. Due to the centrifugal force produced in the rotating process, the grinding roll will swings outward and tightly press onto the grinding ring to make the relieving tool scoop up the materials and send them to the space between the grinding roll and the grinding ring, and the materials will be crushed due to the rolling and grinding of the grinding roll.
